SPECIAL REPORT: Some Breaking News at Night – 6/10/25
A few pieces of news were released this afternoon and evening. I would usually save this for tomorrow’s report, but it feels important enough to write about now.
Yankees
We begin with some unfortunate news. Jazz Chisholm Jr. left tonight’s Yankees game with neck tightness, and the Yankees have yet to release an official report on his condition. He hurt his neck while sliding into third.
The Yankees beat the Kansas City Royals 10-2. The game included a 469-foot home run by Aaron Judge and Cody Bellinger’s 1000th career hit.
Rangers
Several reports suggest the New York Rangers and Anaheim Ducks are in advanced discussions on a trade that would send Chris Kreider to Anaheim. There is no deal in place yet, but interest and a framework are present, according to Frank Seravalli.
This indicates a trade could be finalized as soon as tomorrow (Wednesday). There is no bigger sign of a rebuild on Broadway than a Chris Kreider trade, especially with his 15-team no-trade list still intact.
Knicks
Updates have finally been released about Tom Thibodeau’s replacement.
First, the New York Post’s Stefan Bondy reported that the Dallas Mavericks are unlikely to permit the Knicks to speak with Jason Kidd. The Knicks are yet to formally seek permission, but the Mavericks are currently disinterested in dealing Kidd.
Next, Shams Charania reported the Knicks have been denied permission to speak with Minnesota Timberwolves coach Chris Finch or Houston Rockets coach Ime Udoka. They are expected to make more head coaching requests in the coming days.
Jay Wright, Taylor Jenkins, Mike Brown, Luke Walton, and Johnnie Bryant remain potential head coaching candidates for the Knicks. None are as good as Jason Kidd or even Tom Thibodeau.
