BREAKING: Chris Drury Writes a Letter to Rangers Fans

The Rangers are not going to rebuild. They are going to retool. Chris Drury sent a letter to fans today explaining that many beloved players will be departing soon in exchange for “players that bring tenacity, skill, speed, and a winning pedigree.” The Rangers are now focusing on “obtaining young players, draft picks, and cap space.”

Per reports, Drury met with the Rangers’ leadership group today, as well as the entire team. He also held a separate meeting with Artemi Panarin. This suggests the Bread Man could be the next to go.

This letter is similar to the one Glen Sather and Jeff Gorton sent to fans eight years ago. Since then, Drury was hired, the Rangers appeared in two Eastern Conference Finals in three seasons, and they won a Presidents’ Trophy.

According to Drury, the Rangers are “working relentlessly every day to bring a Stanley Cup back to New York.”

“As we start on this new strategic plan, we will continue to play hard with pride and passion for our fans,” Drury wrote in his letter to Rangers fans. “We appreciate your unwavering support for the Rangers more than we can describe, and thank you for all that you do for our organization. You will begin to see some of our plans come to light in the coming weeks and months.”
