Daily Report – 2/12/25
Greetings,
Here is today’s report:
Rangers
Tonight at 8 PM (7 PM CST), Sweden will host Canada in the first game of the 2025 Four Nations Face-Off (TNT, TruTV, MAX). Mika Zibanejad will center the first line for Sweden with William Nylander (Toronto) on the left wing and Rickard Rakell (Pittsburgh) on the right wing.
“I feel like a kid again,” said Zibanejad on being part of team Sweden and repping the Tre Kronor (three crowns). “Speaking Swedish to my teammates, having meetings in Swedish, it just kind of brings you back.”
Catch Mika Zibanejad in tonight’s game on TNT, TruTV, and streaming on MAX.
Knicks
Last night in Indianapolis, the Knicks beat the Pacers 128-115 as they recovered from a tough loss to Boston.
Because he got into foul trouble, Jalen Brunson only played for 22 minutes, but Karl-Anthony Towns and Josh Hart filled in for him on the score sheet as the Knicks collected their fourth straight win on the road. Towns scored 40 points and added 12 rebounds to record his 40th double-double of the season. Josh Hart added a season-high 30 points to go with 10 rebounds and five assists. He went 12-for-16 from the field in the second half.
The Knicks showed heart in this game, leading by as many as 21 points over Indianapolis’ seven. However, the score remained close throughout the first half, which featured 14 lead changes.
Before last night, the Knicks hadn’t won in Indianapolis since April 2023. During the Eastern Conference Semifinal last season, the Knicks lost all three road games in the series.
The Knicks' biggest strengths last night were rebounding and second-chance points. Despite turning the ball over 14 times, they outrebounded the Pacers 48-36 and outscored them 19-6 in second-chance points.
The Knicks look to retain as much momentum from last night as possible in tonight’s matchup against Trae Young and the Hawks. Things tend to get interesting when Atlanta visits the Garden.
